Quality: Aftermarket - Made in-house

This is our new Tremex TKX 5 speed manual conversion. This is the BASIC kit with a gearbox and all the hardware to mount it. This is a conversion that we have been working on for the last few years since they released the TKX gearbox. This conversion works off the back of our sucessful Getrag conversion which we have sold over 300 kits of. Unlike the getrag this is an all new solution with a bespoke cast and machined aluminium bell housing.

The bell housing retains many of the original V12 features to make it appear correct. The bell housing is adapted for both GM400 dowellings and Borg warner 12 dowelling. If you have the 4L80E bolt pattern we have a drill bush jig you can use to drill the block to suit. Currently the bell housing is only compatible for cars with a distributor pickup, we have not machined the face to take the sensor yet.

This kit being the BASIC kit is more suited for Etypes or kit cars. With everY application being unique PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE PURCHASE, we can discuss the conversion to ensure its the right package for your car.

This conversion consists of:

Gearbox New Tremex TKX

Bell housing - Cast aluminium

Clutch fork/ release mech - Built into the bell housing

Clutch slave - External

Flywheel - UK made with teeth - Spigot bush is a roller bearing

Clutch kit - Mcloud road clutch

Rubber rear mount - GM rubber trans mount

All bolts and fitting hardware

The kit above does not include the selector pictured or gear knob. The mount is also missing from the picture.

We advise that you look at the ratios below. These are the main ratios that are available for our conversion, there is also a link to an external site that offers a great way to choose the optimum ratio for your car. Our experience is that the Getrag has a very short 1st 3.5 and long 5th 0.76. Our feedback has always been 3.5 is too short for a 1st gear. The 2.87 is closer to an original 4 speed manual gearbox ratios too. The 0.68 can appear attractive but please remember the standard V12 cars often already have long differentials and may become unuseable for most applications.

We would be happy to help you with this choice if you have any questions.
