This is a listing for a timing advance bracket designed for the AJ16 X300 Jaguar. This bracket re-positions the crank position sensor 5 degrees advance. The bracket replaces the existing crank shaft sensor bracket.
This is a popular modification that has been used across the X300 range and even in the X300 XJR. The bracket will fit the later AJ6 XJ40's and AJ16 X300. This is a direct replacement for EBC5017. This will fit 3.2 and 4.0 XJ40's from (V) 667829
This will also fit later XJS 4.0L from (V) 179737 with the engine number from 161587 (engine number is located on the engine near the distributor).
The bracket advances the timing of the engine 5 degrees like you would on the older cars. The AJ6 and AJ16 engine has electronic ignition and fueling. The bracket advances the timing without the car knowing. The benefit of using this bracket is better fuel economy, more power and a smoother drive. The bracket does alter the timing of the engine.
