Exhaust systems

Simply Performance has been manufacturing stainless steel exhausts for Jaguars for over 25 years. Initially starting with our signature V12 centre box deletes we have progressed to a range of systems for various different Jaguars. Our mission was simple, to create the best quality OE replacement Jaguar systems for our customers. Each piece of our system is interchangeable with a Jaguar part.  Our manufacturer only uses 304 stainless grade pipe throughout our range - these are all hand made here in the UK.

We initially focused on the XJS, we offer full systems for the V12, 3.6 and 4.0. We have expanded our range for XJ12 series 1, 2 and 3 and X300. There are a few other part systems we manufacture for other models. We are constantly trying to develop more as time goes by.

To delete or not to delete?

We provide various silencer box replacement pipes, born from our passion for exhausts and initial work on V12 centre box replacements. Our experimentation extended to rear and mid box removals. This cost-effective method can effectively amplify the typically quiet Jaguar.

Earlier V12 and 6 cylinder cars respond better to centre box deletes, whereas the later catalysts XJ6/ X300, X308, XK8 and S-type respond better to a rear box delete. Removing centre boxes in these often creates banging, popping and rasping. We do offer centre box deletes for some of these models but you should be aware it will be quite harsh.

With any box replacement pipe there are pros and cons. There will be more cabin noise with any replacement pipe. If you replace just 1 part of your original steel systems with a box replacement pipe we find its more subtle on the ear then with a full stainless system and box delete. Both steel and stainless steel systems have very different characteristics and change the acoustics a lot.

Boxed systems are more expensive then systems with delete pipes, purely due to the cost of manufacturing. Boxes are far more material and labour intensive then a delete pipe to manufacture. Hence them being a cost effective solutions for a bit more growl to your Jaguar

Catalytic converters

We offer a number of options for silencer box replacement pipes. This is where our obsession with exhausts started. Originally as centre box replacement popes for the V12 it lead onto a number of different models. Including experimenting with removal of rear boxes aswell as mid boxes. With any box removal it is a cost effective way to loven up your Jaguar. These cars are often very quiet, removing a box will make the car louder. We find the earlier V12 and 6 cylinder cars resonbd better to centre box deletes, whereas the later catalysts XJ6/ X300, X308, XK8 and Stype respond better to a rear box delete. Tubular manifolds

We produce a small range of tubular manifolds. These are not motorsport influenced or deigned, these are manufactured to be OE replaceable and to try and fit the best they can. Our experience is that tubular manifolds can be problematic as well as fun. Increase in surface area due to individual primaries can massively increase engine temps. We always advise wrapping or coating prior to install. At a bare minimum moving pipes and hoses away from the manifolds.
Ours fit quite well, we now done both the V12 and AJ16 in reasonable quantity and the feedback has been very positive. Both are compatible with our full systems.

The manufacturer

Our systems, produced by the same manufacturer since the late 90s, cater to high-end specialist vehicles through a blend of skilled welders and modern machinery. All parts are 304 grade stainless, welding is 316 which can be TIG or MIG. These bends are done in-house on a CNC mandrel bender and are all jig checked prior to finishing. These jigs are developed and owned by us so you will not find our parts anywhere else. Each piece is polished prior to dispatch. Clamps and rings are all stainless to finish these off to the high standard we want.

Quality is our priority, which is evident in our top tier materials and processes. Our silencer boxes contain a stainless steel perforated pipe, filled with stainless wire wool and wrapped with synthetic wadding to prevent blowouts, offering a higher standard than any Jaguar model.

Why is our system different to others?

In short it comes down to quality of materials and our vision. Firstly a number of competitors use cheaper 410 stainless steel, often imported in from various oversea suppliers which compromises their finished product. Secondly, our brief is to create a top quality OE replacement system. Meaning each piece fits as a replacement for a Jaguar part. Each piece represents a Jaguar part meaning you can but as much and as little as you might want. With other stainless steel suppliers the systems can start in the same place and finish in the same place but what happens in-between can be a whole new invention.
